After escaping from Hamama II and Yang and his men closing in on them, Robby and Hatchi head to the next stage station planetAkka Sakka. It’s a planet of dreams and adventure, as well as love and hope. Its entire surface has been turned into a theme park with admission fees to be paid.
As soon as they enter the park, they are greeted by a musical performance by beaming Flower Girls. There’s also a fantastic parade coming up, and the planet offers a variety of attractions... Truly, it’s a dreamlike place, but Robby, Hatchi and Ikku also feel a strange sense of unease.
Of course, Yang and his people are still following them...

Synopsis[edit]

Space[edit]

Nagaya Voyager[edit]

Nagaya Voyager approaches the 36th planet on the Galaxy Highway, Akka Sakka – the world of dreams, adventure, love, hope and pure righteous amusement.

Akka Sakka[edit]

Robby and Hatchi in front of the entrance.

Entrance area[edit]

When the group disembarks from the spaceship, they are greeted with a long queue. There are four entrances to the amusement park that covers Akka Sakka’s whole surface – for those with a regular day pass, reserved tickets, annual passes and premium tickets. The wait for a regular pass is currently 300 minutes. Robby complains that he hates waiting in lines, but Hatchi says there is another way he found when researching the place. If one has more than 10k followers on social media, it is possible to enter through a back door. Hatchi presents an account of his which has 13.346.001 followers and the group is admitted entry, much to Robby’s and Ikku’s surprise. Robby guesses the followers must be paid off as Hatchi doesn’t have any friends.

Love and Hope Fantasy Musical Area[edit]

As soon as they all pass the entrance, music starts playing out of nowhere and staff greet them with singing. Hatchi comments this looks fun, with which Robby disagrees – but as soon as he says that, the staff stop singing and glare at him angrily, much to his confusion, then sing again to try to change his mind. When Ikku tries to leave, saying this is his least favourite thing ever, the staff stop him too. Hatchi joins in with the singing and him and Akka Sakkans keep on repeating “it’s fun” over and over until Robby and Ikku – begrudgingly – join in, just to be able to move on.

Ikku comparing Akka Sakka to a purgatory.

Subsequently, Robby and Ikku are worn out after “having fun” with the greeting group, but they nervously laugh it off when they receive more angry glares from the staff. Hatchi explains eventually that on Akka Sakka all complaining, abusive language and negative comments are forbidden.

Fairy Tale Flower Lovely Play Area[edit]

The group goes to spin around in teacups – Robby has some complaints about how these are for kids who just started to date, but even more glaring from the staff makes him retract this statement. As it turns out, the teacups spin very fast, so they are not enjoyable – except for Hatchi, who is having lots of fun. After this the three go to a drop tower, then a rollercoaster, eventually they take a photo in a photo board cutout. All of this leaves Robby tired and he asks for a break – even though Hatchi wants to go on many other rides, as – as he admits – it’s his first time in an amusement park and he wants to try more things. He skips away to claim a good spot to watch the upcoming Akka Sakka Lovely Fantastic Fairytale Dream Parade.

Yang refusing to wait in the horrendously long queue.

Entrance area[edit]

Meanwhile, Yang and his crew arrived at Akka Sakka as well – but now, the waiting time for entry with regular daily pass is already at 500 minutes. Gras tries to count on his fingers how many hours this is, but Yang calculates this quickly and says he refuses to wait for eight hours, then storms off saying money will solve the situation.

As it turns out, Hatchi claimed a spot for the parade two hours before it starts. Ikku is abnormally quiet – when questioned by Robby, he says anything he says now will make things worse, so it’s better if he doesn’t say anything at all even though he really wants to laugh at Hatchi’s popcorn box. Hatchi tries to defend the box, then notices he ran out of popcorn so he decides to go buy more. After he leaves, Robby overhears a couple sitting behind them – today is the once-in-a-year Lovely Star Night. Lovely King and Lovely Queen will ring the Lovely Bell in the Fairytale Lovely Fantasy Castle.

Fairy Tale Flower Lovely Play Area[edit]

A more detailed explanation is provided by Gras – after the group got in, Allo also mentioned the Lovely Star Night and Yang asked what it was. Gras answers it’s the night when planetoids near Akka Sakka get close and overlap to form a heart, causing a heart-shaped eclipse. Those who are chosen to ring the Lovely Bell on this night will then be bound together. Yang decides he will be the one to ring the bell together with Robby.

Hatchi after losing his friends in the crowd.

At the same time, Hatchi returns with popcorn, but the area is now much more crowded and he cannot find Robby and Ikku.

Robby being paged to come to the Lost Children Centre.

Hatchi runs around for a bit, trying to find his friends, but fails. Dejected, he sits alone until approached by someone from the staff who asks him if everything is fine. Very soon there is an announcement through the speakers – Robby is paged to go to the lost children centre to pick up “a boy in his teens, roughly 180 cm tall, with a rose treasure popcorn box slung over him”. From the description, he and Ikku both recognise it’s about Hatchi, despite his name not being mentioned. Unfortunately, Yang also hears the announcement and heads to the lost children centre too.

Lost Children Centre[edit]

In the centre, Hatchi is approached by a young boy – Kenta – who asks if the other couldn’t just give his name and place where he lives and says this is pretty lame. Accused of being similarly lame for being lost, he protests – he did this on purpose, to get to be alone for a bit. His parents are always busy so he is taken care of by security police, and he’s fed up with having adults constantly fussing over him. Hatchi replies that his parents similarly were never close to him, but the moment he went out, he managed to make some great encounters.
At this moment, Robby arrives at the centre, complaining how it’s embarrassing to be paged like this – he quickly corrects himself, saying all is lovely – and Hatchi walks off with him after advising Kenta to make some friends too.

Back at the parade, Robby jokingly pokes Hatchi and tells him not to get lost again – the latter denies having gotten lost, but then his focus shifts to his companions now being way more at ease with the atmosphere of Akka Sakka. He is told that his enthusiasm made them realise it’s not bad to be a kid once more every now and then.

Lost Children Centre[edit]

Yang arrives at the centre too, but he is late – in frustration, he hijacks a float that was supposed to walk in the parade and is carried on top of it.

When Robby, Hatchi and Ikku see him approaching, they panic and want to run to their spaceship immediately, but realise Yang is in the same direction. Ikku tells them to run someplace he can pick them up from and he will prepare the Nagaya Voyager, then they split.

Fairytale Lovely Fantasy Castle[edit]

Robby decides to run to the highest level of the castle nearby – as it turns out, that’s also where the Lovely Bell is. He and Hatchi start running up the stairs, with Yang in tow and Allo and Gras cheering on him from the ground level.
The two planetoids link, forming a heart, and the crowd cheers. An announcer says the Lovely King and Queen were chosen, bringing forward even more cheering from the crowd, as the stair chase continues. Near the top, Robby trips and is helped back up by Hatchi. However, the two go tumbling forward together and, looking for something to stop their fall, both accidentally grab on the Lovely Bell’s rope and ring it, pushing away the alien couple which was actually supposed to do it. Much to their confusion, the Akka Sakkan staff start yet another song, announcing they are now eternally bound. They don’t have time to ponder on this as Ikku arrives at this moment, pulls them up to Nagaya Voyager and they fly away.

Lovely Fantastic Fairytale Dream Parade viewing area[edit]

On the ground level, Kenta is looking at the whole scene with surprise – but then he is approached by another boy seemingly his age who asks him if he didn’t drop an Isekangaroo plushie. The new boy then announces he also likes Isekangaroos and it seems like the two might become quick friends.

Fairytale Lovely Fantasy Castle[edit]

His failure to ring the Lovely Bell with Robby leaves Yang in despair – he drops to his knees and cries. After the Akka Sakkans sing to him that he shouldn’t give up on his dreams and then they will come true one day, he gets up and resolves to continue, saying, he never gives up.

Space[edit]

Nagaya Voyager[edit]

On Nagaya Voyager, Ikku celebrates that offensive language is once more allowed. Robby asks what the Lovely Bell situation was about, as he doesn’t know the full story, and Ikku pokes Hatchi to answer, saying he surely read about this on TripSunvisor. Hatchi, however, says he doesn’t know, but as he does he looks away, pretty obviously either knowing and not wanting to tell, or at least having some sort of idea.

Quotes[edit]

Robby: Akka Sakka?

Hatchi: It says it’s a world of dreams and adventure, as well as love, hope, and pure righteous amusement.

Robby: What the hell? That’s piling it on too thick!
Hatchi: Ah, I forgot to mention this, but all complaining, abusive language, and negative comments are forbidden here.

Ikku: Huh?
Robby: How come?
Hatchi: Well, this world is one of dreams and adventure, as well as love, hope, and pure righteous amusement.
Robby & Ikku: Huh?
Robby: So what happens if I say any of that?

Hatchi: That information isn’t provided.
Robby: A fully-grown adult on the teacups?

Hatchi: Are you sure you should say that?
Robby: This is something little kids ride on during the first three months after they start dating. Only couples ride on this, saying “This is as happy as I can be”.
Ikku: Cool it, Robby.
Robby: I’m just saying, I get motion sick easily.
Ikku: Robby if you value your life, then seriously, seriously, seriously, hold it in.
Akka Sakkans: [intense glaring]

Robby: Huh? O-Oh, yeah… Nice! I love these things!
Hatchi: You two seem to be fitting in on this world now.
Robby: Yeah, well… Seeing how much fun you were having playing here, I thought it wasn’t so bad being a kid once in a while.
Robby: Damn, that was an awful planet.
Ikku: Really. Damn awful. Wait a minute, I’m finally able to say it! I can spout as much complaining, abusive language, and negativity as I like! Vitriol rules! Offensive speech rules!

Trivia & References[edit]

Planet Akka Sakka is named after Akasaka, also a station of the original Tōkaidō (located in modern-day Toyokawa, not to be mistaken with Akasaka in Tokyo). However, the planet seems to parody a theme park located in Asakusa instead, with a similar flower theme.
Akka Sakka appears to be very popular with the tourists, just as Akasaka was with travellers.
Similarly to what is seen in the show, the Hanayashiki park also operates with multiple fee types.
The planet’s motto of being a world of (among others) pure, righteous amusement is somewhat ironic, considering during the Edo era Akasaka was known for being a red light district.
There are two types of matsuri floatsdashi and mikoshi. Dashi are pulled while mikoshi are carried. People are not allowed to ride on mikoshi, as they are only for gods. Curiously enough, the float hijacked by Yang was carried, which might speak about how Yang views himself and tie in with how Allo and Gras say Yang is an equal to god in the All we need is Yang song – but also, an Akka Sakkan performer was riding the same float, which can in turn suggest the culture on this planet is different.
Robby and Hatchi ringing the Lovely Bell might be a nod to the original Hizakurige, which implies Yaji and Kita to be in a relationship. The whole setup of being eternally bound in general could be as well reflecting Yaji and Kita’s visit to Akasaka, when they slept at an inn which hosted a wedding during their stay there, and the tumbling forward which resulted in ringing the Bell appears similar to Yaji and Kita falling through a door they dislocated out of its grooves when they were peeping on the newly wed couple.
Staff notes for the episode:

Opening: Yang sure got weird on eels last episode, huh? (heh) What will Yang be like today? (not our problem)

Ending: Mistaking it for the grilled clam planet Mulberry 7, RobiHachi arrives at Mulberry 8. It’s a planet where mechas rule men! Hizakuriger vs Zatsu vs Chimu!
This episode was originally aired without the usual ending credits song.
