Hamama II
Odawarla is the 29th stage station planet on the Galaxy Highway, best known for its eels. Hamama II’s political system is a monarchy, with the current head of state being King Nurumite. He makes sure that the local gigantic eels are not overfished.
All Hamamans are men – furthermore, all that were shown were tall and muscular, which allows to assume it’s a common trait for these aliens in general. Younger Hamamans can look a bit more androgynous – an example can be Unami, who was originally mistaken for being a young girl while in reality he’s a boy. Even though to the viewers all Hamamans may look the same, it’s the opposite for them – one man says to him all Earthlings are identical.
Hamama II hosts the Great Eel Festival, during which several events happen, such as “Touch the Eel”, catching baby eels and an eel rodeo race Nurumite Cup – the latter two coming with prize money for the participants depending on their performance and the rodeo with a commendation from the king for the winner. The festival attracts visitors from various places, many of them staying in the planet’s most popular Unazuki Hotel. Outside of the eel-hunting season, the planet sells dumplings and holds a Hamama II Dumpling Festival.
According to an application which suggests suitable stage stations depending on personalities within a group of travellers, Hamama II is recommended to those who keep arguing and cannot cooperatively act as a group.
