Drama CD 3 Inscrutable are the Ways People are Brought Together (ドラマCD③ 縁は異なもの星なもの, DoramaCD③ Enishi wa Kotonamono Hoshinamono) was released with RobiHachi Season One Volume Three as a Canime bonus.

Summary[edit]

After passing the Haccone Checkpoint, Robby, Hatchi and Ikku wonder where to go next. Yang, Allo and Gras decide to spend some leisurely time at Haccone, certain they will be able to catch up nonetheless.

Space[edit]

Nagaya Voyager[edit]

As soon as Nagaya Voyager passes the Haccone Checkpoint, Robby exclaims they can go straight to Isekandar. He is, however, quickly corrected – the group is only halfway there. When he expresses interest in having fun on different stage station planets during their travel, Hatchi says there are multiple blogs and apps dedicated to Galaxy Highway. After inputting some data, they can even suggest the most suitable stage station planets to visit – Hatchi tries with his data and is suggested the 26th stage station planet, Multiply, known also as Kakegawa.
Multiply’s most recommended tourist spot is the Multiply Flower Bird Land – a vast ground with a great diversity of flowers and birds that can be petted. There is also a bird show with huge eagles and owls and the biggest kiwi plantation in the Galaxy Highway with sheep and rabbits. Hatchi seems interested, but Robby wants to pass as he’s more interested in ladies than petting animals and even the neighbourhood supermarket has kiwi so he sees no appeal to these.

Robby, Hatchi and Ikku checking tourist spots together.

Next, Ikku inputs his data and is suggested the 11th planet, TresIsla, also known as Mishima. Its recommended tourist attraction is the TresIsla’s Sky Walk on the biggest suspension bridge in Galaxy Highway from which one can observe the beach and the mountains. Hatchi adds there is also a long zip slide next to this bridge, on which one can glide at a high speed – Robby again says he’ll pass as he doesn’t want to do panic tests like this, to which Hatchi mocks him that for cowards like him there is also a child ride and a picnic space.
At last, Robby inputs his data into the app and is recommended the 8th planet on the Galaxy Highway, OhIsso. Its recommended spot is OhIsso’s Long Long Beach which has an enormous wavy pool in addition to the ocean. This venue holds a ‘Bikini and Boomerang Pants Swimming Competition’, in which alien idols are the participants – this gets Robby’s attention and he declares he wants to go. This time, however, Hatchi says he’s not interested, and neither is Ikku who’s had enough ocean on Odawarla. Robby loses the interest too when he reads in additional note the pool is out of service due to lack of manpower and the competition is not held any more due to decline of participants and withdrawal of broadcasters – now the pool is targeted for kids.
After Robby complains now every place is a family spot and the adults have nowhere to go, Hatchi tells him that basically old men have nowhere to go. Before yet another age-related argument can develop, Ikku reminds them they still need to stop somewhere to refuel, so Hatchi suggests another app, one that is suitable for planning group travels and considers everyone’s personalities.

Haccone Checkpoint.

Haccone[edit]

Meanwhile, Yang and his crew reach Haccone. Despite being in pursuit, they decide to take some time to enjoy the local hot springs – as Yang believes they will be able to catch Robby’s junk spaceship with no issue as soon as they clear the checkpoint.

Kappappa Hot Springs[edit]

Kappappa Hot Springs.

The group goes to visit the Kappappa Hot Springs, much to Gras’s excitement, and he runs to buy entrance tickets. Soon, Allo and Gras are both enjoying their time, whereas Yang gathers information – he finds out from a clerk that Robby visited the planet before. Allo apologises, saying it should be him and Gras obtaining information, but the apology is waved away with a comment they deserve some leisure time as well.
When Yang mentions the strawberry milk candy the other two got for him, Allo and Gras try to come up with different things to do that could be related, like picking up strawberries, visiting a place where they sell milk so rich it feels like whipped cream or trying locally made Haccone candy, shaped like kappas[1]. However, to every suggestion Yang replies that he doesn’t dislike, but doesn’t either particularly like strawberries, nor milk, nor candy. This leaves Allo and Gras confused why their boss likes strawberry milk candy so much if he doesn’t care about either of these separately. Eventually Yang explains that it’s simply due to a memory that cannot be replaced, but still gratefully accepts their kind intentions. They set off to the checkpoint.

Space[edit]

Hamama II, famous for its Great Eel Festival, recommended for groups which cannot cooperate.

Nagaya Voyager[edit]

At the same time, at Nagaya Voyager Hatchi is done inputting their data into the second app – the group is suggested the 29th planet, Hamama II – recommended for those who keep arguing and cannot cooperatively act as a group. Robby finds it somewhat insulting but the mention of eels piques his interest – he offers to teach Hatchi how to enjoy eel cuisine and have fun with the girls, but the offer is declined. The group still heads towards Hamama II.

00:06
Ikku: Nagaya Voyager successfully passed through Haccone’s checkpoint and we’re now advancing to hyperroad.
Robby: Hm? So we can go straight to Isekandar next.
Ikku: Silly! Take a good look at the map! We’re only halfway to Isekandar.
Robby: Huh?! Still halfway?!
Hatchi: That’s just how far Isekandar is. That’s what makes it worth going there and that’s why we have stage stations in Galaxy Highway. Everyone stops by while on their way there.
Robby: Oh?! Let’s have fun on Galaxy Highway! I’m gonna enjoy as much as I want in the stage stations and have a good time with different cute ladies! Hehe!
Ikku: Gee, you never learn. How many swindlings would it take until you get it?
Hatchi: I see many blog posts about the Galaxy Highway and there’s also an app to locate the stage stations too.
Robby: There’s always those kinds of people who provide all that, huh?
Hatchi: But these are really convenient. Simply by inputting your birth date, gender, interests and purpose of trip suggestions of the most suitable stage stations will pop up.
Robby: Hmmm, but is a birth date necessary for that?
Hatchi: Maybe something suitable for different generations or anything that matches their birth seasons?
Ikku: Hey, Hatchi. Give it a try.
Hatchi: Ok. Let’s see. Birth date, and then gender.. And next... (types) Oh! It’s here.
Ikku: Which planet is it?
Hatchi: Suggestion for you is Galaxy Highway’s 26th planet, Multiply.
Robby: Multi...what is it again?
Hatchi: Multiply. Also known as a stage station by the name Kakegawa.
Ikku: Hmm, that’s a lot of details written there. Let me see. Uhh, let’s see. “For you, who is stubborn and hides your feelings, it is best for you to visit stage station Multiply.” Huh? Stubborn and hides your feelings?
Hatchi: Ikku..! You don’t have to read that!

02:12
Robby: Haha! What the heck? This is like fortune telling! But that’s a bullseye, huh, Hatchi?! “Stubborn and hides your feelings”! Hehe!
Hatchi: That’s not true.
Robby: And then? Hurry up Ikku, read the rest!
Ikku: Okay. Let’s see. “A Multiply tourist spot recommended for you is Multiply Flower Bird Land”.
Robby: Multiply Flower Bird Land..?
Ikku: “You can enjoy a great diversity of flowers in a vast ground and you can also interact and pet the birds. We’re sure the flowers and birds can heal your tired self,” that’s what it says here.
Robby: Oh? The birds will heal you, huh? Perfect for Hatchi who is always chirping noisily like a little birdie! Haha!
Hatchi: When did I ever chirp noisily?
Robby: But I’ll pass. I pick ladies over the birds.
Hatchi: Don’t belittle Multiply Flower Bird Land! The most popular attraction there is its bird show! Huge eagles and owls fly over right in front of your eyes! Not just little birds!
Ikku: Ugh. He already did his own research. Hatchi is serious about going there. Hmph!
Robby: Still, they’re birds, right? It’s a pass for me. Pass.
Ikku: But they have other tourist spots too. Let’s see. Multiply also is the home of the biggest kiwi plantation in Galaxy Highway.
Robby: Kiwi? Just go to New Zealand, heck, even the supermarket in the neighborhood has that!
Hatchi: Good grief. Robby really doesn't appreciate things like this. It’s a kiwi in the Galaxy Highway. We can only eat it here!
Robby: Who the heck comes this far just to eat kiwi?
Ikku: Oh! Other than kiwi, there’s also a place within the plantation where you can pet sheep and rabbits.
Robby: Animals again? But then again; birds, sheep and rabbits are perfect Hatchi the toddler.
Hatchi: Stop treating me like a child! I think Robby should pet animals even more than I do. I believe animals can heal that stagnated, pitch black heart of yours.
Robby: Say what?!
Ikku: The grounds are barrier-free so visitors of all ages can enjoy the tour.
Hatchi: See, a good place even for old men!
Robby: Hey, I told you to not call me old man! Anyway, count me out! Pass!

04:42
Ikku: Let me try to input my data next. Let’s see. This, this, and that.
Hatchi: What’s your result, Ikku?
Ikku: Ohh, it’s out. “Galaxy Highway’s 11th planet, TresIsla.”
Robby: Huh? Where’s that place?
Hatchi: TresIsla, a stage station also known as Mishima.
Ikku: “For you who are careless and hasty, we recommend the stage station TresIsla for you.”
Robby: Hahaha! Careless and hasty?! The fortune telling is spot on, seriously!
Hatchi: It’s not fortune telling!
Robby: So, what’s the planet got to offer?
Ikku: Uh, let’s see. “Recommended tourist spot in TresIsla is ‘TresIsla’s Sky Walk’.”
Robby: What the heck is that?
Ikku: “The biggest suspension bridge in Galaxy Highway.”
Robby: It’s a bridge? Going all the way to a stage station just to cross a bridge?
Ikku: “We’re sure the magnificent and majestic scenery of beach and mountain that you can see from the bridge would calm your usual busy and on-the-move self, as well as offer an irreplaceable moment to you.”
Robby: We don’t have to specifically see that from a bridge... Wouldn’t watching that from a spaceship be more magnificent and majestic?
Hatchi: Good grief, you really don’t get it.
Robby: Huh?
Hatchi: The real enjoyment in TresIsla can be found right next to it.
Robby: Next to it?
Hatchi: There’s a long zip slide next to this bridge. You can glide it through at a really impressive speed!
Ikku: Don’t tell me you’ve researched this planet beforehand too?
Robby: I don’t wanna do any panic test like that. Count me out!
Hatchi: They have a child ride and picnic space for cowards like Robby so don’t worry.
Robby: Child ride..! Fine, I’ll do it next! Uhh.. Where..? What should I do?
Hatchi: Touch this app then select the birth date and gender here.
Robby: Uhmm, here..Like this?
Hatchi: Then click the confirm button.
Robby: Alrighty. Hm? “We recommend Galaxy Highway’s 8th planet OhIsso.”
Ikku: Hey, what kind of place is that? Read out the rest, Robby.

06:57
Robby: Yeah. Uhmm. “For a sloth-like idler and carefreely sloppy person like you...”
Hatchi: Ahahaha! That’s on point, huh, Robby!
Ikku: That’s seriously spot on!
Robby: “A tourist spot in OhIsso that we recommend to you is ‘OhIsso’s Long Long Beach’.”
Ikku: OhIsso’s Long Long Beach? Ocean? We had enough ocean in Odawarla!
Robby: Hmmm~ Seems like it’s not just any sea! Hear me out, I’m gonna read the rest. “The highlight of this place is that it has an enormous wavy pool in addition to an ocean.
Ikku: What’s the point then? Even though there’s an actual ocean next to it, why bother making a separate wavy pool?
Hatchi: Seems like it was popularized once.
Ikku: Hmm, I just don’t get it.
Robby: That’s not all! “OhIsso’s Long Long Beach holds a ‘Bikini and Boomerang Pants Swimming Competition’ participated by the alien idols! On the day prior to the competition, there will be a sumptuous feast where this and that thing may happen. We’re sure that your usual idle self would be fully motivated on this day.” Here it is! Let’s go to this place! I want to put on boomerang pants and flaunt my hustled muscles with the swimsuit idols!
Ikku: Who in their right minds wants to see you in boomerang pants? Not funny!
Hatchi: I gotta say it’s a stage station that fits Robby but I won’t go.
Robby: Even if you refuse, I will still go to OhIsso!
Hatchi: But there’s a note right here.
Robby: Huh?! Oh, right. “However, the wavy pool is out of service due to lack of manpower. The Bikini and Boomerang Pants Swimming Competition has not been held for a while due to the decline of participating idols and withdrawal of broadcasting tv stations.” Seriously?
Hatchi: Apparently, it is now a pool targeted for kids.
Robby: Ugh! Every place now has turned into family spots. Where can we the lively adults socialize now?
Hatchi: Basically, there’s no place for old men to go.
Robby: Don’t call me old man! You, brat! A child like you should play splish splash in the kids pool!
Hatchi: I hate to break it to you but I’m quite a swimmer.
Robby: Ohh, show it to me then! Let’s go to OhIsso then!
Ikku: Gee, we’ve gone past OhIsso.
Robby: Huh?
Hatchi: OhIsso is the 8th planet in Galaxy Highway. Odawarla is the 9th so it’s a planet before.
Robby: What the heck~ Suggesting a stage station that we’ve passed through beats the purpose!
Ikku: Where do we stop by, then? We gotta refuel too.
Hatchi: Oh. We have an app for group trips for that. It’s an app that helps find the most suitable stage station to stop by, while considering everyone’s personalities to avoid arguments mid-trip.
Ikku: Oh. Give it a try then, Hatchi.
Hatchi: Yeah!
Robby: Still looks dubious to me. Who developed that app, seriously.

10:07
Allo: Mr. Yang, Mr. Yang! We touched down at the checkpoint of Haccone!
Gras: Yay! We finally reached here!
Yang: Yeah. We did reach here but went back before.
Gras: Yay, yay! Haccone! Finally we’re here, Haccone! Yay!~
Allo: Hey, Gras! Keep it down. Robby already left Haccone. We’re only passing through.
Gras: Ehh~ Allo, you promised not to say that. Meanie.
Allo: It can’t be helped! We’re not here to play tourist! If Mr. Yang is chasing after Robby, then we’re chasing after him too!
Gras: That’s true... But this is Haccone! The grandest hot springs in Galaxy Highway!
Yang: I know.
Allo & Gras: Huh?
Yang: Once we leave Haccone’s checkpoint, we can pass through hyperroad. With Robby's junky spaceship, we can keep up and find him right away.
Allo: Which means..?
Gras: Is it what I’m thinking about?!
Yang: Yeah. We’ll soak in the hot springs for a bit.
Allo & Gras: Yay! As expected from Mr. Yang! Hot springs, hot springs~
Yang: Damn Robby. Before I devour you, I will wash myself clean here.
Gras: Let’s make haste and get into the hot springs, Mr. Yang!
Yang: Yeah.

11:35
Allo: Mr. Yang! Here it is!
Gras: It’s a Kappa hot spring! Apparently, it’s the biggest day-trip hot springs in Haccone. Not to mention, they are rated 5 stars in TripSunvisor! I’m going to buy us entrance tickets!
Yang: Yeah, please do.
Allo: I see a lot of odd Kappa kimonos.
Yang: It’s a Kappa hot spring after all.
Allo: Makes sense! As expected from Mr. Yang!
Gras: I’ve bought the entrance tickets! They come with towels and yukatas. We’re also eligible for beverages after baths.
Yang: Alright, let’s go.
Allo & Gras: Yes, Mr. Yang!
Allo: Ahh~ I knew it, hot springs are so great.
Gras: Ahh~ This is the best.
Allo & Gras: Thank you so much, Mr. Yang!
Allo: Hm?
Gras: Mr. Yang isn’t here.
Allo: There he is!
Gras: Mr. Yang! We’re here!
Yang: I heard it.
Allo: Heard..?
Yang: So Robby really did come here. I heard it from that Kappa clerk over there.
Allo: I’m sorry, Mr. Yang! We’re the ones who should be obtaining such information!
Gras: We got carried away with the hot spring.
Yang: It’s fine. Later on, I’ll reorganize our work ethics and rules. You guys need leisure time too.
Allo & Gras: Mr. Yang!
Yang: Plus, you guys have prepared strawberry milk candy for me.
Allo & Gras: Yes!
Gras: Mr. Yang, speaking of strawberries. Apparently, they sell strawberry beers here at Haccone’s souvenir shop.
Yang: Strawberry beer?
Allo: We can also do strawberry picking!
Yang: Strawberry picking? Why are you suggesting strawberries to me that much?
Allo: Because Mr. Yang loves strawberry milk candy!
Gras: We wonder if you love strawberries.
Yang: I don’t dislike strawberries but I don’t really love them.
Allo: I’m sorry, Mr. Yang! Stop it, Gras!
Gras: Eh? Is it my fault? I can’t help it, Allo!
Allo: Come on, Gras! Are there any other tourist spots or souvenirs perfect for Mr. Yang?

13:53
Gras: Hmm, since Mr. Yang loves strawberry milk candy... But if he’s not into strawberries that much...I got it! He loves milk! Mr. Yang, they serve delicious milk at a place called Mouchan Milk[4] near Udenoko.
Yang: Milk?
Gras: They are served in bottles and they are so rich it feels like you’re drinking whipped cream!
Allo: Whoa! I want to drink that!~ What do you think, Mr. Yang? How about we extend our trip to Udenoko?
Yang: Going that far just to drink milk?
Gras: Huh? Mr. Yang, you don’t really like milk that much?
Yang: I don’t hate it but I don’t like it that much.
Allo & Gras: Forgive us!
Allo: Hey, Gras! You messed up!
Gras: You’re blaming me again! Ahh, but which part of strawberry milk candy does Mr. Yang like?
Allo: You’re right. Not strawberry, and not milk either. Which means..?!
Allo & Gras: Candy!

14:55
Yang: Whew. I shed off some good sweat.
Allo: Yes, Mr. Yang!
Gras: It’s thanks to Mr. Yang! That’s a great bath.
Yang: Alright, let’s take a break here.
Allo: A store where Kappa Master serves refined peach-coloured coffees perfect after getting out of the bath, “Kappa Mansion”.
Gras: Peach-coloured coffee?
Yang: I’m sure they have different kinds too.
Allo & Gras: Yes, let’s take a break here!
Gras: I will use the ticket earlier to exchange us some beverages. What would you like?
Yang: Since we’re out of the bath, it’s gotta be milk.
Allo: Coffee milk for me!
Gras: Got it!
Allo: My~ We don’t have to go to Udenoko to enjoy nice drinks here.
Yang: Right.
Gras: Here it is, Mr. Yang! Haccone milk!
Yang: Sorry for the trouble.
Gras: Coffee milk for Allo!
Yang: What’s for you, Gras?
Gras: This? It's fruit milk! Gotta grab this since we can only find it here. The master of the shop suggested me peach-coloured coffee to me though...
All: (drinks)
Gras: Whoa!
Allo: Whooaaa, this is the best!
Gras: Ah, I also bought this.
Yang: This is..?
Gras: Hard candy! In the shape of Kappa. Usually, they’re in the shape of chicks but since we’re at Kappappa Hot Springs, they only have Kappa shape. Even though we’re in Haccone, we’re surrounded with Kappa items!
Allo: Ahh, I know that. They prioritize visuals over local specialty.
Gras: Yes. The kinds where when you check the packaging, they were actually not manufactured locally.
Yang: So, this hard candy too..?
Gras: No worry! They were made and packed there. A genuine Haccone’s Kappa hard candy!
Yang: But I see. Hard candy, huh? Once you lick it, you will have to keep doing it until the end.
Gras: That’s what great about it! You can lick it for a long time! The best candy!
Allo: Mr. Yang, do you enjoy the hard candy that Gras prepared?
Yang: No.

17:06
Gras: Huh? Mr. Yang, do you hate candies?
Yang: I don’t hate it. Although I can’t say I really like it.
Gras: Huh? This is strange.
Allo: Mr. Yang loves strawberry milk candy. And yet...
Gras: He didn’t like milk, strawberries and candy!
Allo: Why is that so?
Gras: I wonder.
Yang: What are you guys babbling about?
Allo: Whaa!
Allo & Gras: Forgive us, Mr. Yang!
Allo: We only want you to make you happy...!
Gras: We’re trying to present you a Haccone local specialty to replace your favorite strawberry milk candy...
Yang: Heh, is that so?
Allo & Gras: Fo-Forgive us, Mr. Yang! We did the unnecessary!
Yang: Unfortunately, there isn’t anything that could replace strawberry milk candy for me.
Allo: Huh?
Gras: Mr. Yang? Do you like it that much?
Yang: Because I have a fond memory of strawberry milk candy.
Allo: Fond?
Gras: Memory...
Yang: I’m sure you guys can relate. A memory that cannot be replaced with anything.
Allo: Yes, Mr. Yang!
Gras: I do, Mr. Yang!
Yang: But I gratefully accept that kind intention of yours.
Allo & Gras: Mr. Yang...!
Yang: Now, about time to go. To the checkpoint.
Allo & Gras: Yes!!
Allo: We’ll pass through the checkpoint and get on the hyperroad!
Gras: And then we’ll capture Robby!
Yang: Yeah. Wait for me, Robby.

18:40
Hatchi: Hey, I’ve done inputting in the app.
Robby: Oh! So, where’s the suggested stage station for us?
Ikku: Hey, Hatchi. You gotta press the result button.
Hatchi: Yeah. There!
Robby: Hm? Hamama II? Where’s that?
Ikku: That’s Galaxy Highway’s 29th planet.
Hatchi: “For you who keep arguing and cannot cooperatively act as a group, it’s best to visit Hamama II.”
Robby: Hey, hey. That’s some insult.
Hatchi: “Let’s heighten your friendships by enjoying Hamama II’s local specialty, the eel cuisine.” Hm? Eel?
Robby: Eel, huh? Not bad. Actually, isn’t that awesome? Alright, Ikku, let’s go to Hamama II!
Ikku: Don’t give me orders!
Robby: Alrighty, let’s fuel ourselves with eels! And then I can do this and that with cute ladies~ Hehe! Hatchi, I’ll teach you how to enjoy eel cuisine and have fun with the girls.
Hatchi: No thanks.
Ikku: Good grief!
Ikku: And so the Nagaya Voyager brings us to the destination; Hamama II. But I didn’t expect to see such a festival to be held there.

Trivia & References[edit]

Unlike the previous two drama tracks, this one takes place between the two episodes that were included in the 3rd blu-ray/DVD box containing this track as well, not after the second one.
Multiply-Kakegawa is called after real Kakegawa, a station of the original Tōkaidō. Nowadays visitors can find an actual Bird Park which hosts bird shows in there as well as visit a kiwi plantation with farm animals. It’s possible the name Multiply derives from kakeawa, which translates to multiplication.
TresIsla-Mishima is called after real Mishima, a station of the original Tōkaidō. Nowadays visitors can go to the Mishima Skywalk and observe Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay from a suspension bridge.
OhIsso is called after real Ōiso, a station of the original Tōkaidō. Nowadays visitors can spend their time at the Long Beach, which is oriented towards young families.
Robby, Hatchi and Ikku didn’t eventually visit the planets suggested to them individually, but in Hizakurige Yaji and Kita had their noted adventures in Mishima (where they were robbed) and Kakegawa (where they caused a ruckus in a teahouse). However, the duo only passed through Ōiso without any recorded events.
