Haccone
Haccone is the 10th stage station planet on the Galaxy Highway which serves as Galaxy Highway Checkpoint No. 1, dubbed the Haccone Gateway. In order to continue their journey, travellers need to pass through a control – previously requiring only a passport, now also a special travel permit (unless travelling to Isekandar).
Apart from this function, Haccone is a planet of hot springs. These were brought from Earth by Haccone’s underworld boss, a mysterious man who is widely feared as rumours say meeting him never left anyone unaffected and some end up damaged inside. He is the one who built Haccone’s most popular Kappappa Hot Springs, among several other venues.
To visitors, Haccone offers also local specialty foods: hot springs coffee and shave ice, peach manju[1] and yuba-don[2]. Those who wish to spend their time sightseeing may choose to go on a cruise on a pirate ship over the Lake Udenoko.
Local residents of Haccone resemble kappas[3]. The planet appears to be rather popular with tourists from all regions of the universe, judging by presented alien species featured at various premises – be it either thanks to their infrastructure or the fact passing through the checkpoint is necessary, so many might choose to stop by when they are already there.
This planet was visited in episode 5 by Robby, Hatchi and Ikku, and in drama CD 3 by Yang, Allo and Gras.
