Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE![edit]

Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! (美男高校地球防衛部LOVE!, Binan Koukou Chikyuu Boueibu LOVE!) is a 2015 magical boy anime series created by Kurari Umatani and produced by Diomédea. The series is directed by Shinji Takamatsu and written by Michiko Yokote. The series premiered on January 6, 2015.

Synopsis[edit]

A mysterious animal landed while Atsushi and En is[sic] taking a bath. The animal is asking the two to protect the Earth. Being disturbed, Yumoto went to ask the two but then stopped when he saw the animal whom he referred to as Wombat. In school, Wombat is still chasing Atsushi and En and being chased by Yumoto. The chase ended in Earth Defense Club room with Ryū and Io inside. Wombat asked the five of them to help protect the Earth and gave them 'Lovracelet', a bracelet that lets them transform into Battle Lovers.

The anime has a second season and an OVA, as well as a spin-off anime, produced by Studio Comet.

With things a bit calmer since the whole Zundar fiasco, the boys can get back to what’s important in life -- like hanging around the bathhouse and being lazy. But when the Loveracelets[sic] start calling, they’ll have to jump back into the action.

A spin-off manga written by Mizu Morino ran from October 16, 2014 until completion on June 25, 2015. A second manga began serialization on June 30, 2016 to run alongside the second season, but was discontinued.
A mobile otome game developed by Anipani Co. Ltd was released on February 26, 2015. For the second season, a second storyline was added with tile-match puzzle game elements. The game service was shut down on May 10, 2017.
A stage play with an original story taking place during the anime's first season was performed at the Zepp Blue Theater Roppongi from March 10 to 13, 2016.
An anthology comic was released on September 8, 2016.

The series is directed and written by Shinji Takamatsu. The series premiered on April 9, 2018, and takes place ten years after the events of the original, with an entirely new cast of characters.

Synopsis[edit]

Several years have passed since Binan High's Earth Defense Club saved the world from an alien invasion that sought to sap the world of love—okay, maybe that's how it happened. The truth is that no one really remembers if something like that happened or not, and now five friends-of-convenience share the defunct Earth Defense clubroom to goof off after school. But even if they don't know the club's history, their gathering at the local bathhouse attracts the attention of another adorable extraterrestrial: Karurusu, the otter-prince of Honyaraland. As part of his planet's conquest initiative—"tributary outreach program"—Karurusu transforms these five misfits into magic knights who will bring happiness to all lost souls. Unfortunately, the fox-prince Rafunui[sic] has his own ideas about how to improve this Earth colony, empowering his own trio of dark knights to oppose this new batch of magical boys.

Cute High Earth Defense Club ETERNAL LOVE![edit]

The movie Cute High Earth Defense Club ETERNAL LOVE! was announced on July 27, 2024 at 12 PM JST, alongside the browser game Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE🩷MACHO (美男高校地球防衛部ラブ🩷マッチョ, Binan Koukou Chikyuu Boueibu LOVE🩷MACCHO).
The movie will be released on January 24, 2025. Both will feature the casts of LOVE! and HAPPY KISS! in the unit "Cute High ALL STARS" (美男高校ALL STARS, Binan Koukou ALL STARS), consisting of 22 voice actors and 24 characters.
The game was originally slated for 2024 Q4, but it was announced that there would be a delay. It will have an English release.
